The houses offer comfortable, well positioned places for families with a chronically ill child to enjoy a holiday together and have a much needed break from hospital and constant medical intrusion. An oasis of calm amongst the surroundings of the Retreat offer a memorable family holiday.
This much needed facility is the first of its type in New Zealand and as well as offering some families the chance for a memorable family holiday, it gives other families the chance to re-energise to help fight the illness together.
Family dictates the rhythm of life at the Retreat, whether its a trip to one of the many attractions in the area, meandering the streets of downtown Rotorua or going for a cruise on the lake.
Back at the Retreat why not engage in friendly competition over a game of cards or share a quiet conversation playing scrabble or monopoly. These are just some of the pleasant pastimes you will be able to enjoy. Allow yourself the pleasure of enjoying a good book or step outside to walk along the lake edge.
