Lionel V. Whitehead
Chairman and acting Executive DirectorFranchisee, McDonald’s NZ
In 1990, Lionel project managed the building of New Zealand’s first Ronald McDonald House in Wellington. He sat on the Ronald McDonald House Wellington Trust as Deputy Chairman until 2008 and was elected to the RMHC Board as Trustee from 2001 and as Chairman from 2006.
Lionel and his wife Denise are McDonald’s Franchisees in Wellington and Lionel has been involved with McDonald’s in New Zealand for over 35 years.
Lionel believes that there is no greater cause than helping New Zealand children and their families lead happier, healthier lives.
Carol Campbell
SecretaryDirector, The Business Advisory Group Ltd
Carol is a Chartered Accountant and joint owner of The Business Advisory Group Ltd. Prior to her current business, Carol was a Partner at Ernst & Young.
Most of Carol's time is spent assisting privately owned businesses with their compliance, governance, strategy and structure. She assists owners of businesses with their business decisions and often attends management meetings.
Carol is a Trustee of a number of client Trusts and has previously served on the Boards of the Corran School Trust Board, the Auckland University of Technology Foundation and the Mercy Hospital Management Board.
Carol was appointed to the RMHC Board in 2007 and is also member of the Institute of Directors, a Director of Turners & Growers Limited and Director of a number of privately owned New Zealand companies.
Don Carlton
Property DeveloperDon was a McDonald’s franchisee from 1992 to 2007 and has dedicated 12 years to RMHC as a Board Member being elected in September 1998. He was Chairman of the Working Committee for the Ronald McDonald Family Retreat in Rotorua for 3 years during fundraising, planning and construction. Don was on the board of Gisborne Budget Services for 10 years with 4 years during that time as Chairman.
Bruce Davis
Franchisee, McDonald's NZBruce is a founding Trustee of RMHC NZ, appointed in May 1993 and a founding Trustee of Ronald McDonald House South Island.
Bruce has been a McDonald’s Franchisee in Christchurch since 1987 – a long time supporter of many charities and through his McDonald’s restaurants dozens of School and Sports programmes.
He has overseen and participated in the development of many of the RMHC programmes and also the three stages of building developments of the Ronald McDonald House in Christchurch.
Wayne Foster
Property DeveloperWayne is proud to have been a Trustee on the Board of Ronald McDonald House in Auckland since March 2006. He was also elected to serve on the Ronald McDonald House Charities NZ Board in April 2008.
Wayne was previously a franchisee for McDonald's in Auckland till December 1999. Since then he has been involved in numerous other businesses including managing his Real Estate interests.
Mark HawthornE
Managing Director, McDonald’s Restaurants (NZ) LtdAppointed as Managing Director of McDonald's New Zealand in September 2006 and RMHC Trustee in October 2006, Mark is responsible for the overall performance of the New Zealand and Pacific Island markets, their people and results.
Originally from Australia, Mark started with McDonald’s 20 years ago as a crew person. With seven years experience as a restaurant manager and a further seven in the finance team, Mark has progressively broadened his role across the organisation, before becoming Director of Strategic Supply across both Australia and New Zealand.
Now in his role as Managing Director, Mark has overarching responsibility for 159 restaurants around New Zealand, 12 in the Pacific Islands, and more than 10,000 staff.
Mark has a Bachelor of Financial Administration, majoring in Accounting, and is a qualified chartered accountant.
A J (Sandy) Moore
Group CEO, DDBSandy joined DDB Needham in March 1990. In 1994 he was appointed Managing Director and also became a partner in the agency.
In 1998 he became the Group Managing Director of DDB’s integrated 'beyond the line' marketing communications group, Beyond DDB.
In 2002 he became Deputy Chairman of DDB and in 2007 he became Group CEO of DDB New Zealand. In November 2007 he became a board member of RMHC and in 2010 he became President of CAANZ.
He has extensive experience in agency management and has worked with some of New Zealand's biggest brands and services, creating numerous award-winning campaigns.
