Group Volunteering Co-ordinator (Full-time)

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced co-ordinator with a passion for food and excellent relationship management skills, to co-ordinate and host the volunteers who participate in the RMHC New Zealand group volunteering programme in Auckland.

Volunteers are a cornerstone of the RMHC New Zealand family and this role is one of the key champions of the volunteer programme, with particular emphasis on group volunteers.

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and customer experience focused person to work collaboratively across multiple departments to ensure a seamless volunteering customer journey that will convert volunteers to lifelong RMHC New Zealand supporters (via volunteering, donations and spreading the word). The quality of communication and customer service will have the RMHC New Zealand volunteer programme second to none.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling all Auckland-based groups, by matching group requirements and skills with appropriate volunteering opportunities
  • Hosting and supervising Auckland group cooking sessions including overseeing food safety and providing cooking and logistical support
  • Collaborating with the Development and Engagement Team to produce on-brand marketing materials, information packs and stewardship content
  • Assisting Food Service Manager with logistical support, such as inventory management and recipe packs

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A Tourism, Hospitality, Customer Service, Recruitment or Administration qualification
  • Experience co-ordinating volunteers or being a volunteer
  • A Food Handling Certificate (preferred)
  • A First Aid Certificate (preferred)
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Excellent grasp of the English language
  • Empathy for sick children and their families
  • Be a team player – enjoy supporting and working with others
  • NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
