This is the season for being with family. While most Kiwi families soak up the sun these holidays at the beach, many face a very different festive season.
For families with children who are ill or injured, who need life-saving treatment or surgery these holidays, RMHC New Zealand becomes a ‘home‑away‑from‑home’, with all the trimmings.
And it’s all because of you.
Donate today and help bring the joy of the season to families in need. Your donation keeps them together when it matters most.

Frankie, nine, is used to hospitals. Diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at just three years old, she and her family have spent a lot of time in them. But it’s harder during the holiday season.
From idyllic Northland on the North Island, Frankie lives over 200 kilometres from the nearest children’s hospital, and her family was facing another festive season apart. Until they found RMHC NZ.
With generous support from people just like you, RMHC NZ gives Frankie and her family free accommodation close to the hospital while she receives life-saving care.
For families like Frankie’s who have children undergoing treatment over the holidays, our Houses are a place of festive fun, lifting the spirits of children and adults alike as they spend this special time together.
“We usually spend our Christmases at the beach, but due to Frankie’s health issues, we’ve had to spend quite a few at Ronald McDonald House and the hospital while she received treatment.
We’re so grateful to Ronald McDonald House and everyone who makes it possible for us to stay here. It’s been our ‘home‑away‑from‑home’ during some really challenging times.”
-Hannah, Frankie’s mum
