Ronald McDonald Family Rooms

When families walk into a Ronald McDonald Family Room®, we want them to forget they’re in a hospital. Often steps away from a high dependency or pediatric intensive care unit, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer a place to rest and recharge, just moments away from their hospitalised child.

Ronald McDonald Family Room – National Children’s Hospital, Auckland

The Ronald McDonald Family Room in Auckland offers dedicated play areas for siblings, patients and family visitors to play quietly with activities and toys. Snacks, tea and coffee are provided throughout the day. There are also 13 short stay beds for caregivers of critically ill children when it‘s imperative they remain just moments away from their hospitalised child. These beds are allocated in consultation with hospital staff and are given on a greatest needs basis. We provide 3 meals a day for these families ensuring they can focus on the most important thing, their child in hospital.
