Dan Walker

Dan Te Whenua Walker is a proud husband and dad. His main whakapapa links are to Taranaki, while being born in Christchurch and now living in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) with his whānau. He knows intimately the journey of hardship when one of our children has their life threatened, his son Joshie was diagnosed with bone cancer in January 2021 at ten years old. It turned his life upside down, however, through the strength of Joshie and the support of his wife Michelle, whānau, friends, community and organisations like RMHC they are on the other side of his treatments and Joshie is doing well.

Dan is an experienced leader in business development and relationship management with an extensive focus in the IT and tech sector. He has a passion for Māori Whānau Ora and initiatives that support iwi, hapū and whānau. Dan is Director of Auckland Unlimited, Deputy Chair of NZ Māori Tourism, Board Member of CCF, Board member of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Ruanui iwi and a variety of other community and non-profit roles across Aotearoa.
